We, as the non-profit organization CHYSTO.DE, are launching a special film award in memory of our founder, Roman Zhuk, to motivate you to create eco-films that will inspire the whole country to change.

On the final day of the ECO FILM FESTIVAL by CHYSTO.DE?!, we are launching a competition for projects to shoot videos on environmental topics in two categories:

• short documentary film – prize of UAH 100,000
• social advertising – prize of UAH 40,000

Who can apply for the competition?

Ukrainian citizens over the age of 18, including directors, cameramen, producers, clip makers, people involved in the film and advertising industry, as well as eco-activists and conservationists with or without experience in the film and advertising industry. The main thing is to have a powerful idea and a sincere desire to implement it.

Application acceptance

Details of the film award will be presented by the head of the film department, director Roman Ostrovsky, on August 3, the final day of the ECO FILM FESTIVAL by CHYSTO.DE?! 

Applications will be accepted from August 3 to September 3 inclusive. Festival participants will automatically be included in a short list of 50 applications after filling out the appropriate registration form.

We are ready to process this number of applications and select the 10 best ideas, whose authors will be able to take a 2-month training course and receive mentoring assistance.

The registration form will appear on the page after the official announcement of the competition conditions on August 3.

Training and mentoring

The training program is designed to provide you with the knowledge you need to implement your project. It is intended for both people who are not involved in the film industry and those who have experience in filming movies, music videos, commercials, etc. The training will last two months and consists of five blocks and 15 online lectures, each lasting two hours. During the training program, you will gain the knowledge you need to implement your project.

Selection of winners

After the training course, there will be a pitching of ideas and selection of two winners (one in each category), who will receive funding and mentoring support from our team.

Presentation of the finished product

The deadline for the implementation and presentation of finished video works is June 1, 2026.

We will present the completed projects at the ECO FILM FESTIVAL by CHYSTO.DE?! in August 2026.
